Minister Chiril Gaburici met with Committee on Budgets delegation
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici met today with head of Committee on Budgets delegation, Siegfried Mureşan.
During the meeting, Chiril Gaburici spoke of the main achievements of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, to implement the obligations Republic of Moldova took upon itself.
Among them counted the reduction of bureaucracy by decreasing the number of document granting permission from 416 to around 150, optimizing control bodies from 58 to 13, creation of the single windows that issues all necessary documents.
Chiril Gaburici also informed MEPs of the actions taken to diversify provisional sources of our country and energy resources, among them counting the privatization of Vestmoldtransgaz by Romanian operator Transgaz, who took upon itself the construction of Ungheni-Chișinău gas pipe.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure also spoke of economic growth and increase in export to EU member states.
"Republic of Moldova registered a 4,5% economic growth. Due to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement exports to EU have also increased, reaching in 2017 a total of 1.59 billion USD, representing 65.58% of the total exports. Compared to 2016, export to EU grew by 20%. At the same time, in Moldova are registered 5658 foreign companies" Chiril Gaburici said.
Here, the minister highlighted the facilities and opportunities offered by the seven free economic zones, ten industrial parks and an IT park.
At the same time, Chiril Gaburici presented the MEP this year's priorities of the Ministry for Economy and Infrastructure, reiterating the importance of EU's support.
"We appreciate EU's support offered to develop and modernize Moldovan economy, that will contribute in developing the standard of living", Minister of Economy and Infrastructure mentioned.
MEPs of the Committee on Budgets appreciated the results of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and encouraged Chiril Gaburici to continue continue implementing reforms, wishing him the best of luck.
The delegation of the European Parliament is visiting Moldova between April 2 - 6, to evaluate the implementation of the EU Association Agreement.
