Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, met today with the mayor of Strășeni, Valentina Casian to discuss the involvement of Heads of districts in rehabilitation of roads within the project Good Roads for Moldova.

Chiril Gaburici mentioned that road infrastructure is one of the seven priorities of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure for 2018.

"We have to make joint efforts to ensure that the roads are repaired effectively in the certain period, and Heads of districts need to work side by side with the central authorities in order to accomplish this ambitious project for our country", reiterated Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.

Moreover, Chiril Gaburici reiterated the opening of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure to cooperate with the local authorities in the process of road rehabilitation and construction. 

In turn, Valentina Casian welcomed the launch of the project and appreciated the collaboration of the LPA with the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.

The Good Road for Moldova program provides for the rehabilitation of over 1200 kilometers of road that will cover nearly 1200 localities. The total amount of investments will be about 1.6 billion lei. The money will be allocated from the Road Fund - 500 million lei, and from the State Budget - 1.1 billion lei.

Also, the program provides for the organization of a single auction procedure for each district which will cover all road sectors from the administrative-territorial unit and all financial sources. Signing contracts and launching are scheduled in May this year.
