Moldova has European emergency response capacity
The Framework Regulation on granting country support in exceptional situations was approved at today's meeting of the Government.
The Emergency Situations and Civil Protection Service within Ministry of Internal Affairs was appointed for organizing country support.
The regulation establishes ways of providing international assistance at a request by the Moldovan government to liquidate the consequences of emergency situations which took place in Moldova, as well as ways of providing emergency assistance to other countries by Moldova.
Also, it provides the actions of state institutions involved in the process of solving problems encountered by intervention teams and provides assistance in facilitating border crossing, customs control.
The provisions of the regulation result from the Moldova – EU Association Agreement and are based on the ones of the bilateral agreements on cooperation in the sector of civilian protection and overcoming consequences of the emergency situations, signed by Moldova and other states.
