Moldovan people staying under quarantine will be monitored on an online map, Minister of Internal Affairs Pavel Voicu announced today, without explaining further as there are "confidential" details. 

Presenting the interactive map at an online conference, the officials stated that it could help identify people coming from the risk areas in Moldova who must comply with the quarantine order. 

"In two hours, we will have information on the real situation: how many people enter Moldova, how many people complete the epidemiological records, how correct they are filled in, how urgently they come to the place where they self-isolate", the minister said. 

Legal people will know the address where the person should be quarantined and will call or even visit to check whether they respect the order. 

According to Minister Pavel Voicu, not only the online system but also the citizens can inform the authority the real situation. 

"Call 112 if you have any information", the minister stressed. 

Currently, 20,383 quarantined persons are being monitored by law enforcement. 119 of them were fined for violating the quarantine regime.

38 economic agents were fined for continuing their activity. 

However, the Minister of Internal Affairs states that more and more Moldovans become more responsible recently and do not violate the measures to prevent and combat COVID-19.

There are nine employees of the Internal Affairs Ministry have contracted COVID-19. 154 employees are self-quarantining, the minister said.
