Moldovan deputy premier meets EU Border Assistance Mission head

Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today had a meeting with Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Tesoriere Andrew, Moldpres reports.
The sides discussed the present situation in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, tackled aspects on the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border management, prospect for starting the common control at the border checkpoints on the central (Transnistrian) segment of the frontier between Moldova and Ukraine, as well as possibility for EUBAM experts to provide technical assistance and needed support to the relevant national authorities in the activity they carry out.
The officials also stressed the necessity to synchronize efforts to identify viable solutions to problems on the common agenda and coordinate activities scheduled, in order to avoid their doubling.
