The Moldovan swimmer who has crossed the Molokai strait in Hawaii and Catalina channel in California, Ion Lazarenco has had a meeting with the founder of "Edelweiss" Foundation, Vlad Plahotniuc.
The athlete wanted to thank him personally for all the help and support during the important moments of his life.
Publika.MD recalls that in September, 2016, Ion Lazarenco has swam the portion of 42 km that connects the two islands of Hawaii. Both the Catalina channel crossing and the Molokai channel crossing were financially supported by "Edelweiss" Foundation of Vlad Plahotniuc.
Ion Lazarenco is 37 years old and is living in Ireland for many years already. The Moldovan swimmer aims to pass 7 major straits of the world and so far has already crossed three channels.
