For the first time in Moldova, citizens will have the right to dismiss the deputies, if they do not respect their promises. The statement was made by the Democratic Party of Moldova leader, Vlad Plahotniuc.

"If an MP does not work after the community has voted for him or turns out that that the member is corrupt and is influenced by interest groups, then citizens will not wait for four years to dismiss him, but he will be dismissed immediately. Citizens will be able to elect another deputy instead. Thus, citizens get full control of their choice. Citizens can fire him, if he doesn't do his job" , said Vlad Plahotniuc.

Publika.MD recalls that the electoral system in the country could be changed. The Democratic Party of Moldova initiated the transition to the single vote system for parliamentary elections.

Vlad Plahotniuc said that the legislative initiative in the coming days will be submitted to Parliament and it will be voted during final reading  only after we have the opinion of the Venice Commission. The document will be consulted with the civil society, with parliamentary and extra-parliamentary parties.
