Moldovans with medical insurances will further benefit from free medical services
The Health Ministry informs the new tariffs for medical services will not impact the citizens having medical insurances: that is 86 % of the population will have access to free or compensated medical treatment.
This announcement comes after allegations floated in public that higher tariffs would restrict the people’s access to healthcare, especially to the poor.
The Ministry reiterates that the people with small incomes and the unemployed are insured by the state.
Under the law, the adjustment of the tariffs of the medical services is done once in two years. This allows for implementing new methods of diagnosis and treatment.
Last time the tariffs for medical services were adjusted in Moldova in 2011. The Healthcare Ministry also states its institutions now provide better services, have better equipment, what implies adjusted tariffs.
