Over 60% of the garbage that had gathered last week in Chisinau’s courtyards has been evacuated, as the employees of the municipal firm in charge work extra hours.
There are 170 employees and 64 trucks, and they will work on Sunday, too.
The waste was not taken away for five days, because inhabitants from Bubuieci, where the dump was, protested and blocked the road to trucks.
Following their talks with Premier Pavel Filip, the villagers accepted to let the waste be stored one month more.
The Chisinau city hall is to find a solution meanwhile.
