Moldova's Intelligence Service to check up integrity of applicants for public jobs
The integrity of applicants for public jobs could be checked up by the Information and Security Service (SIS). In addition to the wealth declaration, the future functionaries may be required to produce a file proving they are uncorrupt.
These stipulations were inserted into the Integrity Law, passed in the first reading by the Moldovan Parliament.
The mechanism of testing the integrity will be approved of later. Moreover, the public institutions will have to create ‘integrity climates’ for every employee, to prevent corruption attempts.
The document is to replace the Law on preventing and combating corruption. The Integrity Law has been drafted by a team of experts, representatives of the civil society, employees of law institutions, following the recommendation of the European Union.
