Moldova's Justice Minister Victoria Iftodi met with her Ukrainian counterpart
Justice Minister Victoria Iftodi had a bilateral meeting with Justice Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Petrenko. Officials discussed opportunities for bilateral and regional cooperation in the context of the Eastern Partnership and the European integration process.
The meeting discussed issues related to the reform of the judiciary and recent developments in the justice field in both countries.
In particular, the officials discussed the current state of the judiciary, the progress and challenges of the reform, including aspects of the integrity, accountability and specialization of judges.
Officials agreed on stronger regional cooperation in the Eastern Partnership, taking into account the aspirations of both countries to become members of the European Union.
The Ministers highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to advance the implementation of Agenda-related Agreements with the EU. In this context, the ministers agreed on a bilateral meeting in Kiev to boost the institutional cooperation.
