The Orthodox Church from Moldova will canonize metropolitan bishop Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni and Agafia of Cușelăuca. The canonizing services will be organized on September 3 and 24, at the monasteries they are buried.

The event is crucial for our church. The canonization is important for the church, for the people, as Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni was the first metropolitan bishop of Chișinău and Hotin,” said Soroca bishop Ioan Moşneguţu.

The remains of Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni will be unburied on August 30 - 31 and will be exposed at Căpriana monastery.

The relics of Agafia of Cușelăuca are already displayed for the believers. Some say they really make wonders.

All the clerics from Moldova will attend the canonizing services.
