National Bank of Moldova issued Moldova's 25th anniversary commemorative coin
The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) has issued a commemorative coin on the occasion of the 25 anniversary of independence of the Republic of Moldova. It was put into circulation starting 15.08.2016.
According to the NBM’s press release, the coin is cast in silver and has a nominal value of 100 MDL. The coin’s diameter is 37 mm, and weight – 31,1 grams. There were produced 300 copies, totally. This is part of the Historical events series and entered into circulation as legal tender and for numismatic purposes. The stock price of the coin is 844 MDL.
Marketing commemorative coins will be effected via the BNM and licensed banks, informs Infotag.
On the obverse, the central is the emblem of the Republic of Moldova and in capitals is engraved inscription the Republic of Moldova.
On the flipside, the central is engraved inscription 25 YEARS and the image of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova, on the left, there is the monument of Stefan cel Mare, while on top, it is engraved inscription The Proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The first commemorative silver coin dedicated to Moldova's independence, was launched in 1996. It was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of Moldova. They were later released commemorative coins dedicated to the 10, 15 and 20 years of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
