Offbeat protest against Andrei Năstase: Manneken Pis with PPDA leader's head. Reaction of Năstase
A Manneken Pis with the head of the DA party leader, Andrei Năstase has been placed in the city center. Journalist Vadim Ungureanu, the author of this protest was detained for hooliganism. The journalist brought to the Chisinau City Hall a sculpture referring to the famous statue of the little boy in Brussels who urinates in a well.
According to the journalist, he wanted to remind the politician about the lack of public toilets in the capital. Vadim Ungureanu argues that after he proposed to Chisinau municipality candidate Andrei Nastase to include in his electoral program a point regarding the arrangement of public toilets in the city, he threatened him with physical corruption.
"This is the one who asked to be called a politician, who pisses over everything that is democratic values. He pisses people's opinion and freedom of speech," said Vadim Ungureanu, a journalist.
Sculpture has raised the interest of passers-by, who rushed to take pictures.
"Năstase? Why he...? Ah! Super!"
The boys make fun in the city, it's quite boring here".
One of the inhabitants of the capital proposed that sculpture be preserved for history and for future generations.
"Why we have to destroy it, let's cover it with bronze and keep it in the museum. And the next generations will look at it, others will applaud, others will laugh, and others will criticize it."
Instead, the employees of the Central Post Office of Moldova were dissatisfied with the fact that the statue is directed to the post office building.
"How do you turn the statue in front of the post office? There has to be respect," said a post office employee.
Soon the policemen came to the scene, isolated the scene.
The journalist was detained for hooliganism.
"Hooliganism is not severely penalized, a fine ranging from 300 to 1500 lei, or he can be sanctioned by community work for 10 to 60 hours by the court," said Dinu Savciuc, head of the Center sector Inspectorate.
As a reply to the journalist's action, a DA party supporter organized an anti-protest at kilometer zero from Chisinau.
Angry at the action of Vadim Ungureanu, Andrei Năstase compared the journalist with a fly.
"If I stopped each humming of fly, he would not reach my destination", said Andrei Năstase.
Subsequently, the press reported that DA Platform would come with a reply to the protest organized by the journalist Vadim Ungureanu.
An online publication placed a photo where a supporter of the DA and PAS Platform came to Km 0 in Chisinau with a banner accompanied by the message "Silvia Radu to the trash, Ion Ceban at the sheep-pen."
