Over 100 Moldovans from abroad participated Diaspora Day organized in the Government
Open Day for Diaspora was organized today in the Government in the context of the official launch of Diaspora Days in the Republic of Moldova. The event was attended by representatives of the Executive, diaspora communities, partner organizations, and those responsible for diaspora cooperation in public institutions.
Deputy Prime Minister Octavian Calmâc mentioned the Government's efforts to accelerate the implementation of reforms that would lead Moldovan citizens to return home and capitalize on the experience gained abroad.
"We are open to all communication platforms so as to identify projects proposed by diaspora citizens contributing to Moldova development," said Octavian Calmac.
"You are the golden resource of Moldova. With your help, we are able to gain better knowledge through foreign experience in order to create a strong and viable state with citizens proud of their country." Monica Babuc said.
For the first time, the composition of the Diaspora Excellence Groups and the areas they will work in advise of the Prime Minister were presented. Selected diaspora experts will support the implementation of projects in sectors such as research and the economy, environment, diasporas, justice and medicine.
This is the fourth edition of Diaspora Days in the Republic of Moldova under the patronage of the Government. More than hundred representatives of the diaspora participate in this year's event.
