Over 1.024 bln lei allocated for national public roads in 2019
Road Fund Council meeting chaired by PM Pavel Filip has approved an allocation of over 1.024 bln lei for maintenance of national public roads and repair works in 2019.
Accordingly, 498 mln lei will be used to maintain roads; 333 mln lei will be for road repairs of 15 road sections; over 64 mln lei will be co-financed for road rehabilitation projects.
Officials also addressed important related to road infrastructure. Premier Pavel Filip asked for a comprehensive analysis on usage of financial resources to ensure the efficient use of public money.
Moreover, authorities will elaborate a mechanism to guarantee payment of toll on all drivers. At present, over 1 mln transport units are registered in the Republic of Moldova, but only about 565 thousand car owners pay the road tax.
Pavel Filip also requested possible new formula for calculation of excise duties for diesel and gasoline, considering the specific nature of the agricultural activity.
