Owners of real estate on Ungheni-Chisinau pipeline construction to be compensated
The Executive has passed the amendment and completion of the Law on Public Utilities Decree for works of national interest in the construction of the natural gas pipeline Ungheni-Chisinau. Specifically, the document details the payment of compensation for owners of real estate on the pipeline construction.
Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici said that the modification and completion of the law will institute special expropriation procedure to eliminate risks or impediment in the project implementation process, without affecting the construction of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline.
Furthermore, the document will detail the payment of compensation to owners of immovable property (land) and right holders on immovable property (land).
"This bill does not affect the right to compensation for the owners of immovable property affected by the construction of the pipeline. The Government assumes full responsibility for damages to land, plantations, constructions, unrelenting crops, as well as for other imputable damages, " said Minister Chiril Gaburici.
The draft law is elaborated among actions taken by Economy Ministry to facilitate the construction of the natural gas pipeline Ungheni-Chisinau which is aimed to strengthen the country's energy security by diversifying the sources of gas supply, strategic importance. The document is to be proposed to Parliament for consideration and approval.
