Pavel Filip claims that President Igor Dodon still favors his voters
Prime Minister Pavel Filip claims that President Igor Dodon has yet to grow out of his political party and continues to represent the interest of those who, first of all, shares his ideas. More than that, Dodon has yet to gain the favor of those who have not voted for him and had other values and preferences. The declaration was made during an interview with IPN.
“Unfortunately the Presiden has yet to grow out of his political party and represents, first of all, those who share his ideas, he has not managed- not even sure if he tried- to get the favor of those who didn’t vote for him and had other values and preferences”, the Prime Minister said.
The actions of the President Igor Dodon are paired with his declarations, Prime Minister Pavel Filip believes that in a democratic system, a diversity of opinions is a norm.
“The democratic system doesn’t work with a single idea- it would even be unhealthy, diversity of opinion is normal. As I was saying, a unity on important topics would make me happy, but Moldova is still a country with many cleavages and tensions, where a common point of view is hard to come by. I still hope that, as we gain more positive results for the reforms we put much effort in, the pro-European majority will rise. The Government belongs to everybody, as long as their main concern remains the wellbeing of our citizens, with no discrimination and we are working on it. There is an English term that I love- “to lead by example”, it means to speak through your results and behavior. As such we understand the point of our governing and as such we work for a Government belonging to all citizens of the Republic of Moldova”, Pavel Filip said.
