It is our duty to preserve the memory of the great cultural phenomenon that was Mihai Eminescu. The statement was made by Premier Pavel Filip. Together with Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexandru Jizdan, he laid flowers at the bust of the great poet from Ungheni.
The prime minister also said that Mihai Eminescu is an example of patriotism, a human and intellectual model.
Today is 129 years since the death of Mihai Eminescu.
The poet was born on January 15, 1850, in Botoşani, and died at the age of 39, in Bucharest.
