Prime Minister Pavel Filip and heads of public institutions in managing the business environment have met today with entrepreneurs from Fălești. The talks were based on the situation of the business enthronement from the region, encountered difficulties and possibilities to further facilitate their activity.

"Be assured that in front of you stands a pro-business Government. Republic of Moldova cannot develop without investments in the business environment. All efforts are made to create quality services for citizens and entrepreneurs" Prime Minister mentioned.

Pavel Filip also spoke of the actions taken by the Government to facilitate business development. Particularly was mentioned the decrease of permissive documents from 416 to 151. While soon a single electronic service will be launched, offering the possibility to request documents online and reduce expenses.

To decrease the administrative pressure upon economic agents, the Government has also reduced the number of control bodies from 58 to 18, economizing for the public sector 100 million lei each year.

Pavel Filip spoke of the changes that took place in the Labor Code, aiming to create more flexible conditions for hiring and dismissal, as well as measures taken to fortify the banking system.

"It is time for Republic of Moldova to shift to another economic model, based on consumption, based on industry, on export, so that we will attract investments" Prime Minister declared.

Measures taken by the Government allowed a 4.5% economic growth in 2017. During this period of time, the amount of export has also increased by 20%, 65% ending up on the EU markets. Positive evolution was also registered this year, in the first three months of 2018 export increased by 30%, while the average salary by 13%, reaching around 6 000 lei.

The official also spoke of improvements in the agriculture. In 2017, the amount of harvest increased by 8.6%, while the Government supported farmers by increasing the subventions budget to 900 million lei.

"This year we launched a program offering subventions in advance to young people, including women, who wish to launch a business. It is also an opportunity for Moldovans who migrated to invest in business here, at home" Pavel Filip explained.

Economic agents were pleased by the possibility to hold sincere and constructive talks and spoke of the problems encountered in their activity. Among those was mentioned the lack of transparency in the way local taxes are established, difficulties in the public acquisition system, limited domestic market.

Prime Minister Pavel Filip mentioned that the problems of economic agents will be examined by competent Ministries and Governmental Councils, including by the Economic Council along with Prime Minister, to identify solutions.
