Protest from Capital might be driven by political interests. People refused to speak with ANRE's administrators
Protesters who demand for fuel prices to be revised refused to speak with chiefs of National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), to discuss the way prices for gasoline and diesel are established. ANRE's administration has waited for the protesters for three hours and even sent to the Great National Assembly Square a representatives to personally invite them. Experts claim that the protests from the Capital are driven by political interests, because they had no clear reason for being there.
At today's protest participated by three times less drivers than on Saturday.
Among those who came out into the streets counts a few owners of expensive cars.
"I was not influence much by it! It is the elderly that buy products where they find it cheaper, people using public transport."
Among the protesters also counts Aurel Bucureanu, who hit Mihai Ghimpu in the head two years ago during a protest.
Among the people also counts one of PPDA activists Valeriu Chirca, whom RISE Moldova accused of being a mercenary. The man was tried for delivering items to pro-Russian separatists from Ukraine's East.
"Speak up! Tell them all your problems!"
Though the man denies of coordinating the protest.
"I do not lead the people, but speak with them. I am not one of the organizers" Valeriu Chirca said.
Protesters threaten to block the traffic in the Capital.
"We tried to solve this peacefully, now we are a bit more agressive. We blocked a street to be seen."
After the regulator has been waiting for them at the headquarters, the representative of the agency came in the National Assembly Square. He invited them to explain how they establish the prices, but they refused.
"Why do we need to go there, you should find a solution."
"-We are talking about a calculation.
-We are not interested in this."
"People should understand how we establish the price and why it rose. Unfortunately, we couldn't talk", said Andrei Adam, ANRE representative.
Finally, a couple of representatives went to ANRE, where the agency leaders explained the way the prices are established and explained why the prices rose.
The representatives of the Socialist party also went to protest in front of ANRE's headquarters in the morning.
They didn't want to discuss with ANRE representatives either.
"We were surprised that people don't want to talk with us. We think this is a political action in an election year", said Tudor Copaci, ANRE general director.
The economic experts say that the prices' growth is determined by the fluctuations that took place at international oil products exchanges.
Yesterday, Pavel Filip, the Prime Minister of Moldova asked for more transparency regarding the method of calculating the diesel and gasoline prices. Moreover, PM declared that he is ready to change the whole legal framework, if it is not good enough.
"The independent institutions should be more transparent in everything they do", said Pavel Filip, the prime minister of Moldova.
At the end of the month, ANRE increased the prices of the fuel. Thus, a liter of diesel costs by 64 bani more than previously, while the gasoline costs by 66 bani more. In a short time after Pavel Filip asked for this subject to be debated, the new prices were canceled.
