Residents of Orhei town and other towns surrounding it will no longer have to travel to the district hospital on a damaged road. Old Orhei and Negruzzi streets in downtown Orhei have been repaired recently.

Capital repair works at Negruzzi street with a 1 km long 200 meters, lasted about a month and a half.

"Negruzzi Street has not been repaired for 20 years and were in a state of danger to medical transportation, to transport patients and human trafficking" , said the nominee for President of the Republic, Ina Popenco.

Old Orhei Street is also in a deplorable state. Now around 600 meters of road are unrecognizable.

"This road was in a deplorable state. Considering the fact that the road fund has not enough money, Mayor of Orhei decided to repair the road from the money the "For Orhei" organization , said deputy mayor Orhei reghina Apostolova.

In addition to modernizing the roadway, sidewalks were built for pedestrians.

"The road was in a very bad condition, after repairs of the aqueduct, practical way was not covered with asphalt. The sidewals were repaired from zero, they have changed edges and two levels of asphalt" , said Genesis company director, Vitalie Mrug.

People say that roads have changed considerably and are very pleased with the result:

"Now the road is done very good, both for drivers and people".

"No there was no way to walk on tose roads, nor with the car, nor any man could pass on, but we are pleased."

"Thank you, in old age I will walk on normal streets."

Rehabilitation of roads in Orhei is a priority for local authorities. Currently, the city is under capital construction and rehabilitation of several roads.
