Search warrant in Medicine Center. File on power abuse to be opened
Prosecutors and officers of the National Anti-Corruption Center descended on the Forensic Medicine Center this morning.
The searches take place regarding an open criminal case for power abuse in the auctions for expertise equipment.
Prosecutors determine that DNA detection devices have not worked since 2013 when they were purchased.
The information was confirmed by the CNA Press Service.
Journalists from "Moldova, Wonderland" conducted an investigation in 2016 into the equipment worth millions lei abandoned dusty in morgue. Authorities invested nearly 10 million lei in devices and appliances for the laboratory of judicial genetics.
Under the provisions of the Justice Reform Strategy, the DNA lab was to be operational from 2016 onwards, but the equipment has been kept unused in a warehouse.
