Silvia Radu: A Moldovan flower carpet was laid in front of the Nativity Cathedral
In front of the Nativity Cathedral was laid a Moldovan flower carpet. The idea belongs to interim Mayor of the Capital, Silvia Radu, who claimed that flowers will then be planted in parks from Chisinau.
"We wish for citizens of the Capital to enjoy those beautiful spaces and make the city more attractive for tourists, developing it and even gathering additional money for the City's budget. This year, citizens of the Capital will be able to see how their money were used. Flowers were also previously bought, but nobody knows where they are, but this year, the purchased flowers will be seen. Later, flowers will be planted in all parks. A Moldovan flower carpet. An auction was made and the winning price was 1 800 000 lei. I also saw such festivals in Europe and it would be nice for a tradition to exist in Chisinau. People must see those flowers when they are purchased. The flower carpet will present in front of the Nativity Cathedral till next Tuesday, then they will be planted in parks" interim Mayor of the Capital explained.
The flower carpet was arranged last evening.
