Silvia Radu: People proved that they care about the city
Citizens of the Capital proved that they care for their city, by participating in the cleanup from last Saturday. Interim Mayor Silvia Radu declared that over 11 000 citizens participated.
According to Radu, after the cleaning works, between 500 and 600 tonnes of waste - plastic and glass were evacuated, along with 200 tonnes of sand and mud.
"I believe everyone did an amazing job, we had good management, even if we did not manage to clean each yard from the city. Over 11 000 people participated and 174 vehicles were dispatched. We have evacuated between 500 and 600 tonnes of waste that was later sorted. We also evacuated 200 tonnes of sand and mud. Streets from Ciocana were cleaned. I wish to thank non-governmental organizations and dozens of economic agents with whom we will meet this week. I believe this to be an event that must take place each year. It proves that people are capable of teamwork as long as there is a common goal. I believe that Mayors must organize this event before Easter, before holidays, to prove that people care for their city and participate in solving its problems" interim Mayor of the Capital, Silvia Radu declared.
