Solely with medical prescription: Antibiotics Chemists subjected to certain risks if they infringe order of Ministry of Health
The antibiotics could be bought solely with recipe. The chemists will be sanctioned if they will issue these medicines without the recommendation of the family doctor, according to an order of the Ministry of Health.
The chemists will be obliged to propose preparations at different prices, and the patients will be able to choose the ones that suit him/her.
The modifications will be active lawfully from the next week. The chemists that will infringe the law will be punished by the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, which will monitor the selling of antibiotics.
The pharmacies are obliged by the new stipulations to keep the recipes prescribed by the doctors for 30 days. The chemists must inform the patients about the commercial denominations available for the prescribed medicines and their prices.
Ruxanda Glavan, the minister of Health, declared: "The patients who will have prescription from the doctor will leave a sample of the recipe in the pharmacy, and the chemist will be obliged to indicate the commercial denomination of the medicine that was issued. The process of issuing of antibiotics is to be subjected to a thorough control ".
Of the 95 reports drafted to the chemists, 70 were for the issuing of the medicines without recipe.
Gabriela Jeleznîi, the chief of the Pharmaceutical Inspectorate declared: "The informational system allows us to see the stocks and the entrances of medicines that took place in pharmacies and on the basis of the exits that took place. We verify here if there took place issuings without recipe or not”.
The new rules are sustained by the people and thay say that the recipes will reduce the number of those who practice automedication.
The chemists who will infringe the law and will sell antibiotics without prescription risk a fine of 1.500 lei.
10% of the medicines used by the patients from our country are antibiotics, according to the World Health organization.
