The average pension for retirement will be of 1,396 lei in 2017. The Government has approved the draft state of social security budget on Monday, December 5th. 8.400.000 lei will be amounted for the category of social payments with 8.5-per-cent more than in 2016.

According to the state social insurances budget draft law, 540,000 people will reach the retirement age in 2017. Another 70 beneficiaries will receive 788 lei add on their pension for the length of service. A pension of 7.410 lei is provided for employees in civil aviation.

On the other hand, members who receive a pension from the social insurance budget and the state budget will benefit from nearly 7,300 lei.

In 2017, 286 deputies and 74 ministers will receive their pensions. The pension for judges and prosecutors will be determined in the amount of 14.500 lei, and 7.600 lei for civil servants.

 In April 2017, 6.8-per-cent of pensions will be indexed. The Government will specify the coefficient in March next year.
