A sector (community) police officer has been fired and chief of the Straseni town police – retrograded. These are the results of an internal inquest carried out by the Police General Inspectorate, following the murder of a girl by peers.
Other distantly related police officers have also been sanctioned.
The 13-year-old Cristina Parhomenco was found dead on November 30 in an abandoned building in Straseni town west of Chisinau, after missing several days.
The police now suspect four boys aged 13-17 of having savagely killed her.
Two of them are in custody, a third one in Hungary, as his extradition is being prepared.
The 13-year-old boy will go unpunished.
