Telecom revenues in Moldova fall in third quarter
Moldova's total telecommunications revenue from the sale of services in the electronic communications sector decreased by 3.5 percent to MDL 1.722 billion in Q3, according to a report by telecommunications authority Anrceti.
Sales on the fixed telephony market fell by 20 percent to MDL 205.7 million, sales of broadcasting and retransmission of audiovisual programmes decreased by 18.5 percent to MDL 68.5 million and revenues from other activities in the field of electronic communications decreased by 31.3 percent to MDL 89 million.
Mobile internet sales increased by 23.5 percent to MDL189 million, fixed internet sales by 7.7 percent to MDL 282.4 million, while sales of mobile services increased by 2.1 percent and totaled MDL 991.4 million.
ARPU on the fixed and mobile internet markets was MDL 172.6 and MDL 88.4, while ARPU on the fixed, paid television (networks of cable and IPTV), and mobile broadband markets was MDL 58, MDL 46.9, and MDL 22.8.
