Cases of viruses and influenza have risen alarmingly in the Transnistrian region. 

One patient died of bilateral pneumonia in Tiraspol, reports local media. Further information about this patient is not provided.

There are 10-12 people hospitalized in Tiraspol hospital's pulmonology section daily. 

Over 4800 people visited the family doctor with fever, cough and rhinitis last week. 

10 cases of influenza including 8 children were registered in Tiraspol and Ribnita. 

12 classes in six local schools are quarantined. Children from eight classes in two schools don't attend classes in Grigoriopol. There are 1-2 groups or classes in the other cities on the left bank of the Nistru river. 

The virus outbreak was declared in the region last week. All gathering events with the participation of children were cancelled while public transport is sanitized three times per day.
