March 2 marks 27 years since Nistru armed conflict. In September 1990, Tiraspol proclaimed the independence of the region, and two years later, on March 2, 1992, the war began. Effects of the Transnistrian guards and Cossack units attacked the Dubasari Police Station under Chisinau jurisdiction.

On this occasion, in a Facebook post, the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Plahotniuc wrote:

"Twenty-seven years ago, thousands of Moldovan, civilian and military had put Patria above their own lives, and several hundred of them fell heroically on the battlefield.

Let us thank and remember that we are obliged to preserve the peace for which they have fought and to never allow such tragedies to be repeated. Let us not accept messages of hatred and division.

Let us promote unity and understanding on our lands, build a better future together # For Moldova, so that sacrifices in the past have not been in vain. "

According to the Ministry of Defense, 286 people died in the Nistru conflict and 284 were disabled. On July 21, 1992, Russian President Boris Yeltsin and his Moldova counterpart, Mircea Snegur, signed a ceasefire agreement in Moscow.
