The Republic of Moldova is isolated from the rest of the world. Most countries prohibit Moldovan citizens from entering their territories unless they have a residence permit, employment contract or a medical emergency. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau provided us with detailed information on the travel conditions for Moldovans. Only two states have no entry bans for any foreigners. These are Albania and Belarus.

Therefore, Moldovans also do not have entry restrictions on Albanian territory and are not obliged to stay in self-isolation for 14 days when they get there. You can easily enter Belarus without being quarantined. All that is required of Moldovans is a medical certificate attesting that they are not infected with the new coronavirus, performed no more than two days before the date of crossing the border. From June 16, the flights on the Chisinau-Minsk route were resumed.

Three more countries allow Moldovan citizens to enter their territories, but are obliged to stay in quarantine for 14 days. These are Ireland, Slovenia and the United Kingdom.

The rest of the countries completely forbid the access of Moldovans except for those who have employment contracts, medical emergencies or a residence permit. 12 of the European Union countries have not yet announced the date on which they will lift these restrictions. These are Romania, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary. Most of these states maintain a quarantine obligation for 14 days for Moldovans with valid documents who arrive there during this period.

At the same time, Lithuania announced that it only allows access to citizens from countries with up to 25 cases of COVID-19 disease per 100,000 inhabitants. However, Moldova has exceeded this indicator 15 times.

Ukraine also announced the other day that it does not receive Moldovans for the same reason. Countries on the old continent outside the EU, such as Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, have not announced when they will reopen the borders for our citizens.

Other European countries, such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, have said they maintain these restrictions until 1 July. The situation is no different for other states either.

Moldovans cannot go to Canada, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, the United States, Israel or Russia. However, the US authorities announced that they would review their decision on June 21, those in Israel on July 1, and the rest did not specify an exact date.
