Young Democrats from Basarabeasca district mark World Cancer Day
Young Democrats in Basarabeasca district today, February 4th, have marked the International Day of fight against cancer. Young people have organized an event where they discussed the effects of this disease and how the disease can be prevented.
Finally, in solidarity with the victims of the disease, they wrote several messages of encouragement that will reach people hospitalized at the Oncology Institute.
During the event, the doctor, Cutareva Efimia talked about the large number of people suffering from cancer. Specialist has urged young people not to neglect their health and go frequently to the doctor for advice.
Young people say that such events are welcomed, and the information they have learned will be useful.
Event organizers say they want to inform young people about incurable diseases.
"Our team of young Democrats from Basarabeasca district came up with the idea and the proposal to organize this event. We want to inform young people about the diseases that may arise" , said leader of Democratic Youth in Basarabeasca district, Victor Angelov.
According to the Center for Public Health, about 48,000 people in the country are suffering from cancer, and more than six thousand patients die annually. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Moldova, after cardiovascular diseases.
