The word disabled (handicapat) will be replaced with disabled person (persoană cu dizabilități) at the initiative of PDM in the article 50 and 51 of Constitution. 

PDM deputy Sergiu Sîrbu stressed that the amendment protect people with disabilities from discrimination, moreover, the modification complies with international standards. 

Ludmila Iachim has been immobilized in a wheelchair for more than 20 years. She says she has been offended being called disabled, invalid. 

She thinks the disability does not determine the ambition, dreams of persons. 

"They were called useless, poor,.. We're still fighting as the incorrect terminology was used", said the manager of project Motivation Associatioin from Moldova, Ludmila Iachim.

According to statistical data, there are 182 thousand people with disabilities living in Moldova, accounting 5.1 percent of the population. Almost half of them are employed.
