60 children in the country aged 2 to 15 suffering from type I diabetes will receive free of charge specialized medical care at the Sergheevca Children's Rehabilitation Center in Ukraine.
The children were selected based on age and severity of disease progression by pediatric endocrinologists in the IMSP endocrinology department of the Mother and Child Institute.
During the 18 days of treatment, children are insured with insulin, glucometers and tests, and are assisted by four specialist endocrinologists and pediatricians from republican medical institutions.
Also, children will benefit from a Diabetes Patient School training program, where they will be informed about diabetes control and how to choose the right foods, depending on the illness they suffer from.
