World Health Organization mission led by Igor Pokanevych visits Transnistrian region
The representatives of the World Health Organization in Moldova, led by Igor Pokanevych, started the monitoring mission in the Transnistrian region. This is announced by the alleged Ministry of Health in Tiraspol.
Igor Pokanevych said that mechanisms to combat COVID-19 were needed.
The WHO delegation visited the Crisis Center, the laboratory and several medical institutions in Tiraspol.
Earlier, Chisinau asked the World Health Organization to send a technical mission to the Transnistrian region to guarantee the population's access to quality medical services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Authorities in Chisinau say Tiraspol is taking unilateral measures that could violate the right to health of residents on the left bank of the Dniester.
