Cigarette smuggling STOPPED with help of sniffer dogs (PHOTO)

Two attempts of illegal smuggling od tobacco products were prevented yesterday, February 21st, with the involvement of sniffer dogs of the Customs Service. Over 9,900 of various brands of cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Moldova have been detected.
The first case was registered at the Otaci customs post where the service dog named Oscar signaled the presence of suspicious objects at a citizen of Ukraine.
Tobacco products have been detected by Charlie dog at the Sculeni customs post . The goods were hidden in the fuel tank of a car of a 24-year-old citizen of Ungheni town.
According to the procedure, the cigarettes were seized and offenders risk fines amounting to 3,000 lei each.
