Compensation for farmers who suffered from 2014 Russian embargo
All farmers who have suffered from the embargo imposed by Russian Federation in 2014 received compensation. The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
The debt was paid to about 50 fruit growers who own plantations of apples and plums with an area exceeding 15 hectares.
Other about 60 farmers have received it a few weeks ago.
43 million lei is the total amount of compensation paid.
Fruit growers who were banned to export in Russian Federation have received help after they sold their products at lower prices in the country.
