Plahotniuc: Ghimpu, Dodon 'cry' on TV that PDM overtook City Hall with a vote. Socialists and liberals - powerless?
During the PDM meeting, Vlad Plahotniuc spoke about the situation in the Chisinau City Hall and about the nomination of the deputy mayors who, according to Mihai Ghimpu and Igor Dodon, took over the capital city hall.
PDM leader said that democrats do not claim to the head of the city hall but are ready to support through government all projects for citizens' interests.
"Today we have important topic that I and Democratic Party referred. This issue is related to the situation in the Chisinau City Hall.
"We all saw how the socialists and the liberals came to the public with practically the same ideas, Plahotniuc through a raider attack and the nomination of a large number of deputy mayors took over the City Hall.
"This sounds really familiar.
"But I want to ask Dodon and Ghimpu, you together, as parties you have the majority in the Municipal Council, why do not you propose an interim mayor, if you now express dissatisfaction with those who have been nominated as deputy mayors.
"Why leave PDM that has only one councilor in the Municipal Council to put your mayors and deputies?
"Once again to make things clear, today the socialists and liberals can do everything they want in the Chisinau city hall. They have the majority, they can move even the mayoralty or Colonita or Condritta, they have all the votes to do, but they sit and complain on TV as PDM with only one vote in the Municipal Council took over the city hall.
"There is a question, whether the socialists and the liberals are powerless, and the democrats with just one vote have gotten stronger than both parties.
"Do you know why PL and PSRM were scared of the appointment of deputy mayors, first of all they fear that things in the Capital City Hall will change for the better, and secondly they fear losing control over the institution that has brought them satisfaction and benefits over the years, and dissatisfaction with the people.
"The capital today is in a disaster and, unfortunately, they can not say that things are bad because Plahotniuc is guilty. I declare myself responsible for the moment that the PDM has no political aspirations regarding the assertion, but is ready to support through the government all the good projects that will be in the interest of the citizens, Vlad Plahotniuc said.
Publika.md reminds that former president of Gas Natural Fenosa Silvia Radu was elected yesterday as the new interim mayor of capital Chisinau.
The announcement was made by Nistor Grozavu, who gave up this position. At the same time, the municipal councilor Ruslan Codreanu was appointed deputy mayor. According to Grozavu, the decisions taken are to overcome the institutional blockage mentioned in the City Hall.
