Premiere in Moldovan medicine: First eye surgery without using scalpel
First time in Moldova. The specialists of Institute of Emergency Medicine conducted an eye surgery without the scalpel.
The doctors took out a spherical bullet from the eye of a 33-years-old woman, shot with a fire gun. The object was taken out by using angiographic method.
It is about a painless surgery, carried out with the help of Roentgen rays, which allows the internal visualization of the blood vessels of the limbs, internal organs or the heart. The patient was discharged after three days of hospitalization and is feeling better and better.
The medical premiere is a start of the development of endovascular surgery in our country. Thanks to the new equipment, the doctors can conduct surgeries without scalpel in complicated cases of injury and peripheric arterial diseases.
