The first drug authorized in the US and the EU to treat COVID-19 will soon arrive in Moldova
A batch of Remdesivir, which is the first drug authorized in the US and EU for the treatment of COVID-19, will be delivered to the Republic of Moldova within 10-20 days.
The general director of the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, Eremei Priseajniuc, signed yesteday the authorization for the import of about 2000 bottles.
“We will do our best to give our citizens access to the most effective medicines used in the treatment of COVID-19, including on international clinical research platforms. In this regard, we actively cooperate with internationally renowned manufacturers and distributors of medicines, clinical research and medical development companies. Thus, we are heading towards the achievement of the proposed goal, to ensure the pharmaceutical security of the country, during a pandemic ”, mentioned Eremei Priseajniuc.
In the Republic of Moldova, the preparation Remdesivir is provided in the Provisional National Clinical Protocol “Novel coronavirus infection”, used in the treatment of patients infected with SARS VOC-2 virus.
