The Moldovan Cabinet endorsed a plan of manifestations dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of the start of the battles for Moldova’s integrity and independence (1991-1992).

There most important is the Memory March, which will end in laying flowers at the Eternitate Memorial Complex on March 2 in Chişinău.

Commemorative plaques will be installed in many localities and street will be given names of fallen heroes.

The veterans, disabled and their relatives will receive money and medical assistance.

"It’s important not only to make statements, not only to be with them on this day. It’s important to be with them every day so that they feel the Government’s care every day," said Prime Minister Pavel Filip. 

Many veterans say the manifestations on this day are important to educate the new generation.

"The Government’s actions give us special support to promote our ideas, veterans. We seek for an idea to join us all: the patriotism, promoting the country’s patriots," said the president of an association of veterans, Ghenadie Cosovan. 

Political analyst Oazu Nantoi says the authorities must promote such actions: "Certainly it’s important, unless it is an element out of context. There must be a state policy so that the youth should know what happened then."

About 300 combatants and 1,200 civilians from both banks of the Dniester died in the war of 1992.
