Vladimir Casa elected as president of Gagauzian Popular Assembly

Vladimir Casa is the new president of the Gagauzia Popular Assembly. His candidacy was supported by 18 of the 22 deputies present at the meeting and the vote was secret.
The regional legislative election was held after former head of the People's Assembly, Alexandru Tarnavschi has resigned because of the fact that he did not knew the Gagauz language.
Elections to the People's Assembly in Comrat took place late last year. The regional legislature is composed of 35 MPs from single-member constituencies.
