City of Iaşi donated to Chisinau 200 thousand Romanian lei to combat COVID-19 pandemic
The city of Iași donated to Chisinau 200 thousand Romanian lei, the equivalent of over 800 thousand Moldovan lei. The money would be used to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was made by the mayor of Iasi, Mihai Chirica, on his Facebook page.
Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban thanked his counterpart for this support.
"I want to assure the Chisinau residents that all this support will be seen in the first line. First of all for doctors, medical institutions", Ion Ceban said.
Chisinau Mayor's Councilor Natalia Ixari told Publika that the money will arrive in the next days.
This money will be spent to purchase gloves, masks, ventilators, as well as other medical equipment for five hospitals in Chisinau: the Archangel Michael Hospital; Maternity number 2; Hospital for Contagious Diseases for Children; Valentin Ignatenco Hospital, as well as the Municipal Hospital number 1
